Why Twitter?

Often, small business people will tell me their assessment that they will not be using Twitter.  They've assessed it as a fad and they're certain that they are not a Tweeter or how it possibly relates to them.  So, here's what I have to say.

Firstly, Twitter is a great listening tools.  Remember, my most recent focus is on listening and not so much on speaking although this is important too.  After all, we are the hosts of our own communities and conversations.

Secondly, Twitter makes it easier for us to connect with audiences we've not known before but who all want to participate in similar conversations.  

Thirdly, unlike the other top social media choices such as Facebook or LinkedIn, the focus is not on who you already know and are you connected or friends but rather are you interested in the same conversations.

After all, finding similar conversations and creating communities is what social media is all about so as a social media tool, it is one of the most valuable.  Facebook and LinkedIn have their place too, but Twitter has a unique place in this social media specialists' heart! 

We make sure its always a part of the marketing mix!
